A Little About the Author

Mark graduated from Kettering University (formerly GMI Engineering and Management Institute) in 2003 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. During his college career, Mark enjoyed three years as a co-op working for a ‘big three’ automotive manufacturer learning all aspects of a manufacturing facility such as plant safety, work cell design, robotic programming, and plc control. In 2004, Mark started with The Knotts Company (Berkeley Heights, NJ) as a CAD technician designing and specifying aluminum framing and guarding for industrial, and sometimes residential use. A couple of years in, a position was created to develop new business and fortify the current market for the Knotts Company’s automation controls offering; Mark jumped for the chance. This position was inclusive of being the product specialist for manufacturers of industrial electronics, robotics, and HMIs. Since accepting this position, the author has completed several machine integrations including being co-designer and lead programmer of a complete turn-key packaging machine that included vision guided robotics, conveyor controls, and material handling logistics.

Mark has been married to his high school sweetheart for over 5 years and two children ages 6 months and 2-1/2 years, respectively.
